Description:

This class is only available in person at the Calgary Taekwondo Academy facility located at 2434 Kensington Road NW. 

This class is intended to be appropriate for most levels of experience, and will always include a variety of approaches to learning and deepening the practice of Yoga asana (postures). Connecting with breath, different layers of the physical body, and a supportive community are pillars of the offering. Becoming more adept at the integration of strength, balance, proprioception and mobility, range of motion and functional movement are our objectives. Expect to explore postures rather than perform them, using both traditional and current wisdom, with stillness and flowing sequences each taking turns in every class.

Jessica Kwong is a lifelong mover with a deep interest in the journey and the creative process of cultivating wellness. An avid gardener, nature lover, and proponent of mindful eating, she believes firmly in the ability of the body to inform the conscious mind, and in the unconscious mind’s reciprocal habit of affecting the body. Always curious to discover what lies behind every veil, Jessica has a passion for motivating others to also seek and explore, to uncover their own inner understanding, while discovering the simple joy of moving well through the world.

Required age: 15+ on the day of the activity

Notes: This class has ongoing registration until the class size is full. Maximum 12 participants. If you have any medical conditions or previous injuries, please email the instructor before the date of the lessons. There are no make up lessons for missed lessons, absences, and vacations. All participants are required to bring their own equipment; yoga mat, straps, tune up balls, bricks. If you would like to purchase any equipment, please contact the instructor.
