Description:
In Primary Jazz & Acro Dance, dancers will learn and develop the fundamentals of jazz technique, such as kicks, leaps, and connecting steps. Dancers will also learn acro dance skills and tricks based on Acrobatic Arts certified programs, such as table tops, cobras, and baby bridges. Class will consist of an energetic warm-up and stretching sequence, followed by some across the floor, flexibility, and strengthening exercises to keep your dancer moving and engaged! *We offer an Acrobatic Arts Examinations opportunity (by invitation only). Dancers are highly recommended to take this class 2x per week to be considered for the examination. **Why take an Acrobatic Arts Examination? Notes: Dress Code: Black spaghetti strap leotard, black dance shorts AND/OR footless beige tights. (Recommended brands: Capezio, Mondor, Body Wrappers, Revolution Dancewear). Footwear: Barefeet. Hair: Neatly groomed off of face in a classical bun or ponytail. Please see class description for the link to our 2023/2024 Dress Code.
Prerequisites: No previous experience required. Recommended to take with a Pre-Primary or Primary Ballet class.
