Description:
This is a combination class of Jazz and Acro Dance in which dancers will learn and develop the fundamentals of jazz technique, such as kicks, leaps, and connecting steps. Dancers will also learn acro dance skills and tricks based on Acrobatic Arts certified programs, such as table tops, cobras, and bridges. Class will consist of an energetic warm-up and stretching sequence, followed by some across the floor, flexibility, and strengthening exercises to keep your dancer moving and engaged! *We offer an Acrobatic Arts Examinations opportunity (by invitation only). Dancers are highly recommended to take this class 2x per week to be considered for the examination. **Why take an Acrobatic Arts Examination? Notes: Dress Code: Black spaghetti strap leotard, black dance shorts AND/OR footless beige tights. (Recommended brands: Capezio, Mondor, Body Wrappers, Revolution Dancewear). Footwear: Beige jazz shoes (Recommended brands: Capezio, Bloch). Hair: Neatly groomed off of face in a classical bun or ponytail. Prerequisites: Previously taken Jazz & Acro 1 is highly recommended, but not required. Recommeded to take with Youth Foundations Ballet, Grade 1 Ballet, or Grade 2 Ballet.
