Description:
Singing in a choir is a fantastic way for children to develop both confidence and their musical skills. Group singing provides a social structure most kids crave, trains their ear and their brain, and provides a foundation for future musical activities. Our inclusive, beginner-friendly Kids’ Choirs are perfect for children who are excited to learn about music and want to sing! The administration fee ($30/student plus $10/additional family member) charged each term supports administration, office supplies, piano tuning, recital/performance costs, building supplies, and general overhead. This fee may be posted to your account as a separate invoice. Our Kids' Choir, Jr, (ages 5-7) is for kids who have not necessarily mastered reading. We support kids' natural musical abilities by teaching them a wide selection of songs through proven traditional methods, including repetition, ear training, and call and response. Our musical selections will range from the sublime to the silly! In Kids' Choir (ages 7-12), the students will expand their musical knowledge with more advanced songs, introduction to note reading, and exploring harmonies. They will learn how to rely on each other and when to take the lead in a song. Both choirs will learn age-appropriate songs from various styles of music, including folk and traditional, Broadway, contemporary, and songs in other languages. There will be a concert for families on the last day of class!
