Memory and Mediums Workshop

Description:

This workshop will playfully explore how memory works, through various techniques such as drawing, painting, and collage. Students will choose their own memory and have the chance to recreate it in four different ways, using pastels, paint, fabric, and paper.  This is a great opportunity for young artists to have fun experimenting with materials while simultaneously learning to communicate meaningful concepts.

 

About the Artist: Born in 1984, Linden spent her youth in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Southern California to obtain her BA in Studio Art. She’s since lived and worked out of New England, Europe, India, Australia, Samoa, New Zealand, and Japan.  Her work is primarily about memory architecture, its process, and the layers of alterations which happen each time a repeated recollection occurs. She often strives to blend autobiographical narratives with larger collective subjects such as childhood, longing, and place, creating layered field recordings that represent multiple interpretations and perspectives of the same story. Her work has been published and exhibited internationally.
