Description:
Two day only workshop led by professional artist & resident Watercolors & Oil Painting instructor Christine Joy Swanson--In this plein air class we will explore painting with watercolors outside. Learn more about Christine Joy here Each day will begin with a demonstration and lesson, and then the remainder of the class will be for painting in the landscape with help from Christine on individual paintings as needed. Day One (August 13th) : How to Paint Trees Day Two (August 14th) : How to Paint Buildings Someone who has never touched paint before will be able to take this class and learn some of the basics of watercolors, and the experienced artist will work on the refining of their watercolor skills. Here are some of the things we will learn together: -How to pick out a good painting composition to paint within a landscape -How to mix paint colors for our particular scene -Tips and tricks for painting outside -Basic beginning instruction for beginners (basics on using materials and brush work) -Extra tips for Intermediate or Advanced painters (learning new ways of creating texture within a landscape and work with color theory) Cost includes all materials provided by instructor & the Chehalem Cultural Center.
