Description:

This ceramics course is designed for adults at the beginner or intermediate skill level. Beginning participants will be provided with an orientation to the ceramics studio and equipment, as well as introductory lessons and demonstrations for hand building, use of a pottery wheel, use of specialized tools and glazing techniques. Intermediate participants will be provided lessons and demonstrations of more advanced techniques as well as individualized instruction and support for their ongoing project. All participants will enjoy our full ceramics studio complete with tools, pottery wheels, glazes, work spaces and space to store projects. Projects will be fired in our kiln under the supervision of our skilled instructor. All students receive a 25lb bag of clay for each session. Students will be able to work independently before their class begins during “studio hours”. Studio hours begin the second week of class and run 3 pm – 6pm.

Notes: If we cancel a program for any reason, participants will be entitled to a full refund or transfer to another activity. Classes will be cancelled three (3) business days prior to the first class if the class does not meet minimum enrollment. If you prefer, our staff will assist you in finding another activity that meets your needs. No refunds will be given after the class begins. Refunds given if notified three (3) business days before the class begins. A 25% service charge will be assessed to each activity cancellation. *Active Duty Military members receive the City of Monterey Resident Rate.
