Improve participants’ proficiency in performing the swimming strokes that were introduced in Level 3

• Head first entries from standing
• Bobbing while moving for safety
•  Floating
  • Survival Floating
  • Back float 1 minute
• Streamline to swim
• Swim underwater 3-5 body lengths
• Tread water for 2 min (2 types of kick)
• Swim 25 yards
  • Front Crawl
  • Elementary Backstroke
• Swim 15 yards
  • Butterfly
  • Breaststroke
  • Back Crawl
  • Sidestroke
• Turns for Front Crawl & Back Crawl

Exit Skills Assessment:

1. Perform a feetfirst entry into deep water, swim front crawl for 25 yards, change direction and position as necessary and swim elementary backstroke for 25 yards.
2. Swim breaststroke for 15 yards, change direction and position as necessary and swim back crawl for 15 yards.
3. Submerge and swim a distance of 3 to 5 body lengths underwater without hyperventilating, return to the surface, then exit the water.
