HELP SUPPORT THE PIONEER COMMUNITY CENTER MEALS ON WHEELS

Your Pioneer Community Center continues to provide many services including, delivery of  hundreds of meals to homebound clients in Oregon City and West Linn.

The Meals on Wheels program is on the front lines everyday, focused on doing all we can to keep Oregon City and West Linn seniors safe and nourished. Our program makes wellness calls regularly to check-in on clients’ physical and mental health. Meal delivery has increased to an all-time high. We provide hot and frozen meals for these homebound clients in our community.

One of our clients, Betty, is an active 89-year-old Oregon City resident. Betty has lived in her home for 36 years. She has many friends at the Pioneer Community Center, and loves coming in to play bingo and meet up for Monday craft day. She counts on her meal delivery to ensure her nutritional needs are met and it helps with her limited income. If you ask her about Meals on Wheels, she says she LOVES it. She appreciates the program, as it helps her to remain in her home and gives her a great deal of independence. When asked about Meals on Wheels Betty said “people depend on this program and with these healthy easy meals, my generation gets to keep being independent and have a sense of pride. No one wants to be dependent on anyone else, but the Meals on Wheels program is so much more than just a meal. It’s about caring people taking care of those of us who need just a little bit more help.” Betty gets most of her social contacts through the Pioneer Community Center, which adds to her quality of life.

All donations received by our generous community members are tax-deductible. Donations will go directly towards our ongoing services for the frail and socially isolated homebound clients in Oregon City and West Linn, ensuring they are safe and nourished. Your financial support will help keep our services and programs, such as Meals on Wheels, at the Pioneer Community Center thriving.
