Registration opens on March 4th, 2024 at 9:00am The Crestone Mesa Garden is located on Crestone Mesa Dr. in the heart of the Crestone Mesa neighborhood, just .5 miles past the golf course. This garden has 25 garden plots for use by neighborhood residents and community members alike. Register for one or more raised bed(s) at the Crestone Mesa for the 2024 growing season! The registration fee is $35/ garden bed, which includes use through the entire 2024 growing season, and resources such as tools, soil, a gardener able to give guidance, and some seeds to get you started! Scholarships are also available! City of Salida scholarships will cover the cost of the garden bed, plus additional Recreation opportunities. If you have a family, or if you live alone, this opportunity will be a fun hands-on learning experience and access to growing fresh and local produce. The turnout for last year's growing season was incredible, and the garden was so full and alive. Let's keep it up!

Notes: This opportunity provides the registrant one 8 x 4 raised bed for growing food crops and flowers. Community garden/ raised bed gardening connects people to their land, food, community and plants. Gardening teaches people about the plant life cycle, the local food systems, and healthy lifestyles. Water and basic tools provided by the City at the garden site. Get your seeds, and or transplants out! Let's see what we can do together! You will receive a separate email alerting you when the City has turned the water to the site on. There will also be several community workdays organized by Guidestone at the garden over the course of the growing season, so keep an eye and ear out for those messages. We hope to see you there to share our experiences, knowledge, and company!
