Description:
Registration opens on 2/26 at 9:00am and closes on 3/23 at 5:00pm. FIBArk and Salida Parks and Recreation have teamed up to bring you this intermediate kayaking course as part of FIBArk's Community Paddling Program. Participants in this course will work on the fundamentals of playboating with specialized instruction in advanced techniques. This course is taught by a certified whitewater kayak instructor and an excellent playboater, Aran Kilroy. Participants must provide their own equipment. If you do not have equipment, please reach out to anissa.caiazza@cityofsalida.com and Salida Recreation and FIBArk will do our best to find you equipment. Required equipment includes; - Playboat
- Kayak Skirt
- Whitewater Helmet
- Lifejacket (PFD)
- Paddle

Required age: 16+ on the day of the activity
Notes: Participants must be able to swim. Participants must be able to roll. Must be able to provide personal whitewater kayaking equipment -Playboat - Kayak Skirt - Whitewater Helmet - Lifejacket (PFD) - Paddle - Bathing Suit It is recommended that Participants, in addition to the required gear, bring the following supplemental items. - Water Appropriate shoes - Rash guard On that note, the FIBArk kayaking program is looking for kayaks and related river gear to support more programs in the future. If you have a boat or gear lying around that you don't use anymore, please reach out to anissa.caiazza@cityofsalid.com and we'll accept your donation to FIBArk.
