Bringing the excitement of engineering to Lovejoy ISD since 2016. Explore the excitement of engineer-ing! Students grades K-1 will use the Engineering Design Process to explore the fields of Jr. Industrial, Jr. Marine and Jr. Mechanical Engineering sparking a passion for creation and tinkering. Ours is a proven program for a life-long interest in STEM (Grades K-1 only)
Jr. Industrial Engineering: Understand that industrial engineers invent, design, and build tools and processes to make work easier, faster, and safer. Students will explore foundational concepts of by cre-ating simple machines such as levers and pulleys, assembly line and quality control. Classes held on January 10, 17, 31, February 7, 14
Jr. Marine Engineering: Explore the sea! Jr. Engineers will learn the basic concepts of float and sink, density, mass and buoyancy by doing age appropriate projects. Students will simulate scuba diving and sub-marines, build canoes, paddle boats water wheel and more. Classes held on February 21, 28, March 6, 20, 27, April 3rd
Jr. Mechanical Engineering: Jr. Engineers will learn in-depth the basics of energy, motion and external forces doing age appropriate projects. During these 7 weeks they will design, create, test and im-prove a variety of machines and mechanical systems such as constructing a roller coaster, catapult, rolling ram-bler, whacky tacky machine, boomerang can and more. Classes held on April 10, 17, 24, May 1st
