Bringing the excitement of engineering to Wylie ISD since 2011. Explore the excitement of engineering! Students will use the Engineering Design Process to explore the fields of Industrial, Aerospace Engineering and Coding sparking a pas-sion for creation and tinkering. Ours is a proven program for a life-long interest in STEM (Grades K-4)
Industrial Engineering: Industrial engineers are accountable for maintaining high stand-ards of efficiency in factory settings. Students will explore foundational concepts of assembly line, cast-ing, create simple machines such as levers and advanced wind mill. They will also learn how recent trends like robotics are influencing this field of engineering by creating their own sketch bot. Classes held on January 29, February 5, 12, 26, March 4th
Aerospace Engineering: Soar into the skies with homemade airplanes and rockets! Combin-ing concepts of lift, velocity, and drag, students learn to launch and land their own flying vehicles such as airplanes, rockets, helicopter and parachutes. Classes held on March 18, 25, April 8, 15, 22
Coding: Using MIT developed Scratch Software, learn basic coding skills and enhanced computa-tional thinking. Let’s create games and animation, a drag and drop way to learn computer facts and have fun including integrating webcam. Each student will work on individual laptop. Classes held on April 29, May 6, 13, 20
