Famous Achitecture Part I - Ancient Structures

StructuresTravel through history investigating how ancient architectural breakthroughs led to the fundamental design elements we know today. From walls and arches to post-and-lintel building techniques, use hands-on manipulatives and multi-subject integration to inspect and duplicate design elements from around the globe. After the foundation’s been poured, utilize the engineering design process to replicate some of history’s most famous designs, then uncover how different societies made the stylistic, artful and structural considerations of construction and architecture. 

Urban Innovations with Minecraft - Transportation

Design, create, and make your very own city come alive using Minecraft! This weekkids will explore the theme of sustainable, innovative, and futuristic transportationsystems that include public transportation, such as rails, busses, and taxis, as well aspedestrian and bicycle systems. Kids apply their new, scientific understanding todesign and create their very own city in Minecraft using the Engineering for Kidsdesign process.
