Famous Architecture Part II - Modern Structures

Investigating how ancient architectural breakthroughs led to the fundamental design elements we know today. From walls and arches to post-and-lintel building techniques, use hands-on manipulatives and multi-subject integration to inspect and duplicate design elements from around the globe. After the foundation’s been poured, utilize the engineering design process to replicate some of today's most famous designs, then uncover how different societies made the stylistic, artful and structural considerations of construction and architecture. 

Urban Innovations with Minecraft - Going Green

Design, create, and make your very own city come alive using Minecraft! This weekkids will explore the theme of urban gardening and green spaces and how theycontribute to a more environmentally friendly, self-sustaining city. Kids apply theirscientific understanding to design and create their very own parks and urban farmsin their Minecraft city using the Engineering for Kids design process.
