Marine Biology & Mammals

Taught by Katie Mulvihil

Our first semester will be an exciting journey through the wonders of marine biology. Scholars will dive deep into the diverse ecosystems and fascinating creatures that inhabit our oceans. Through a combination of hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and engaging discussions, students will develop a profound understanding of marine life and its importance to our planet.

Second semester we will travel from water to land and discover the world of mammals. From the smallest shrew to the mighty elephant, students will explore the characteristics, habitats, behaviors, and adaptations of various mammals. Scholars will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of mammals in our ecosystems and their unique features that set them apart from other animals. Lessons will be based off of The Good and The Beautiful curriculum.

Government & Public Speaking

Taught by Lacey Diaz

During the first semester our scholars will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of government, citizenship, and civic engagement. Through interactive lessons, note taking, and hands on activities, students will develop a foundational understanding of how governments function, the rights and responsibilities of citizens, and the importance of active participation in a democratic society. Finally, scholars will also campaign and vote in a mock class election. What better time to learn than during an election year!

During the second semester students will learn  the fundamentals of public speaking and communication. The aim is to equip students with the necessary skills and confidence to communicate effectively in various personal and academic settings. We will provide a supportive environment for students to develop their voices and become confident speakers.

Games and Movement

Taught by Lara Stremel

In Games & Movement students will engage in physical activities that activate their gross motor skills, i.e. running, jumping, hopping, catching, balance, and overall body control. Games played will exercise listening skills, following multi-step instructions, coordination, and individual discipline. By way of God's Word, students will learn the importance of biblical lessons through healthy competition, endeavoring as a team, and the fruit produced through player cooperation and sportsmanship. Above all, Games & Movement is big fun, big games, big movements, all for the glory of God.
