Location: Flip 'n' Wicked Gymnastics

Description:

For ages 8 years and up, this beginning level of gymnastics provides a solid foundation for all sports with a focus on stretching, flexiblity, and strength, body awareness and control.  Athletes will use the beam, bars, floor, vault and tumble track to learn their fundamental movement patterns and body shapes needed for gymnastics skills.  Participants will be taught skills as outlined in the first two levels of the CanGym Badge program. They will be assessed through our online reporting program: My Skill Chart.  They will receive a badge once ALL skills in a level are mastered (5/5 stars).  Athletes progress at their own pace, and will continue to the next badge level as skills are assessed.

Class is 90 minutes, once per week.

Notes: * Required attire: bare feet (clean hands and feet) Girls – leggings/shorts and t-shirt or one-piece body suit (no skirt) hair tied back, no jewelry, stud earrings are allowed Boys – gym shorts and t-shirt * Refillable water bottles are only permitted in the specified area in the gym. * The viewing area is open. * Retail is open for shopping for body suits, shorts, grips, hoodies, shirts, hats, etc... * Athletes will wait by the gym entrance door in the north hallway for their coach to let them into the gym.
