Instructor: Julie Diaz Plant-Powered Junior Chefs: A Healthy Adventure in Vegetarian Cooking with Mrs. Julie Learning about food is a life changing adventure! Children often eat only the foods that they know. When they see, experience, and prepare new foods they often enjoy the taste. Creative Cooking with Mrs. Julie offers a pleasurable environment for kids (of all ages!) to experiment with new and sometimes unusual ingredients. The students will cook real food using fresh ingredients with much of the seasonal produce obtained from local farms. They will practice basic cooking skills such as cutting (with age appropriate knives), measuring, mixing, and following recipes. And of course eat their creations at the end of the class! At the end of the semester each student will receive a booklet of all the recipes that we cooked to take home and share with family.
