Description:
May 18 Vernal Pools are shallow depressions that usually contain water for only part of the year. Since they eventually dry up, fish cannot survive in them, making them ideal breeding grounds for amphibians like many species of frogs and salamanders. Help Heartland Forest's environmental staff monitor these unique habitats by measuring them.
