Description:
Piedmont Environmental Center's summer nature camps are specifically designed for children who have a sincere interest in nature and the environment. Campers become Junior Resource Managers of "homeland" territories while playing a land-use simulation game called Common Ground. Hiking adventures on the trails and supporting activities in the classroom give campers a greater understanding of how plants and animals form communities much like our own. On Wednesdays, camp will meet at High Point City Lake Park for a day of nature study, fishing and swimming at the new pool. Thursdays will offer an optional late pick-up at 8:30 p.m. that will include dinner, evening hike and activities. Camp will conclude at noon on Friday. Registration opens March 1. Campers may register for one Nature Camp session and one Herp Camp session.

Required age: 8 - 12 on the day of the activity
Notes: Campers need to bring a lunch, two snacks and a water bottle and be dressed for outdoor activities and weather.
