Piedmont Environmental Center's summer nature camps are specifically designed for children who have a sincere interest in nature and the environment. Campers become Junior Resource Managers of "homeland" territories while playing a land-use simulation game called Common Ground. Hiking adventures on the trails and supporting activities in the classroom give campers a greater understanding of how plants and animals form communities much like our own. On Wednesdays, camp will meet at High Point City Lake Park for a day of nature study, fishing and swimming. Campers need to be dressed for outdoor activities and bring a lunch, two snacks and a water bottle each day.

Required age: 8 - 12 on the day of the activity

Notes: Registration opens March 1 for the public. Friends of PEC may register early, beginning February 15 at 9 a.m. A Friends of PEC Family Membership is required for a child to register early and receive the discount.
