Description:

Junior Rock campers spend the day "hounding" for rocks and minerals on the trails and in a mineral lab. Four activities and three hikes help campers understand the rock cycle and the geology of the Piedmont region. Campers will gather a small collection of samples to take home at the end of the day.

Campers need to be dressed for outdoor activities and weather and bring a lunch, two snacks and a water bottle.

Required age: 6 - 8 on the day of the activity

Notes: Registration opens March 1 for the public. Friends of PEC may register early, beginning February 15 at 9 a.m. A Friends of PEC Family Membership is required for a child to register early.
