Description:

One of the most fascinating miracles in the natural world is bird migration. No mention of migration is complete without recognizing the tremendous migratory feat of the Arctic Tern. Flying 60,000 miles each year, this Olympian migrates from one end of the earth to the other and then miraculously returns to its exact location of departure.
This program takes place on International Migratory Bird Day and highlights the extraordinary feat of bird migration. You will explore how birds are able to migrate such distances, and why. Heading into the woods to identify migrants and resident bird species will conclude this engaging event.
