Get ready for a super cool 2-hour adventure that will make you a solar eclipse expert just as the fantastic 2024 eclipse unfolds on Monday, April 8th!

We will have activity stations to enjoy from Noon until totality begins at 1:41pm.  Bring your lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the show from the Cicada Pavilion's wide open field. 

Don't miss out on this chance to experience this once in a lifetime event at your favorite nature preserve! This event is free with your paid $5/vehicle entry into LLELA.

Pre-registration is required for each person to receive your official CE and ISO certified sun-viewing glasses, so you can safely see the Sun in all its glory.  Supplies are limited and we cannot guarantee that people who are not registered will receive a pair of certified viewing glasses.

 

Notes: **Know Before You Go** *Registration is required for each person, regardless of age. * All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event. *We suggest you bring a sack lunch that doesn't require refrigeration or heating to enjoy at our picnic tables. * Bring your own lawn chairs DRESS FOR THE WEATHER and for primitive trail conditions. Wear closed-toe shoes. Long pants are always recommended. We recommend bringing a full (and refillable) WATER BOTTLE for each person. Sweet drinks such as sodas and sports drinks may attract wasps and bees. Respect wildlife. The City of Lewisville protects wildlife and their native habitats. Please respect the animals and plants at all times. We ask all visitors to LEAVE NO TRACE: Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but memories, kill nothing but time. Outdoor programs are often at locations with no running water. Be prepared to use our clean portable toilets if necessary. Regarding cancellations: We rarely cancel programs except for rain or lightning. In case of cancellation, staff will contact you and you will receive a refund. If you fail to show up for a program that was not canceled, there is no refund.
