Description:
Nursery 2 BALLET Your love of dance has been inspired! You continue to entertain those around you with movements that now have form and purpose, every performance finishes with 'reverence'. Your have begun a collection of dance books that include elaborate pictures of theatre and costuming. Perhaps you've been lucky enough to see 'The Nutcracker'; although you're still a bit young! Dance class is a blast! The Nursery 2 Ballet syllabus continues to develop the student's proficiency in the rudimentary steps and skills of Classical Ballet and movement. At this level, music appreciation and improvisation focuses on music dynamics including rhythms. Students are exposed to a rich array of music genres. Class content is based on the appropriate development of skills for this age group. Students begins at the barre with a warm-up that includes all the major muscle groups. The exercises at this level focus on teaching the understanding of the dancer's body and posture. Exercises include Port de Bras, Centre Practice and an introduction to steps that become the building blocks for Allegro. Syllabus: Warm-Up,4 Barre Exercises, 2 Floor Exercises, 4 Center Practice Exercises, 5 Progressions Exercises, Music Appreciation, Dance Study, Cool Down, and Révérence. Performance: London has organized multiple performance and demonstration opportunities for students, to build confidence and to gain experience of dance outside of the studio. Please ensure that you support your child in these opportunities as they are an important part of their dance training. It must allow the dancer complete freedom to experience movement while maintaining safety. It must also allow the instructor and observer the opportunity to view the alignment of the body and the movement itself.
