Description:

Nursery 1 ACROBATICS

Nursery 1 Acrobatics is for students who love to tumble!  Acrobatics is a combination of dance, contortion and gymnastics. With an emphasis on strength and flexibility, this program will teach student the rudimentary skills and techniques, for safe and consistant exeution of tricks.  In this class, students begin with basic stretches and then move on to the wedge. The wedge is an inclined surface that provides momentum to moving skills and provides support for basic movements like makes pencil rolls, forward rolls, baby crab walks, and back rolls easier.  Students will also use studio walls, mats and yoga blocks to work on honing correct body alignment and execution.  Skills include 'push into the bridge', 'knee split and toe to head', 'forward rolls', and 'backbends down the wall' and splits.

Uniform:

The visual appearance of a dancer is as much a part of the art of Dance as the movement itself. Classroom attire is particularly important. It must allow the dancer complete freedom to experience movement while maintaining safety. It must also allow the instructor and observer the opportunity to view the alignment of the body and the movement itself. At the London School of Dance, we maintain a strict policy regarding the wearing of regulation uniforms and correct grooming. Please see below for the required uniform for this level.
