Level 1 ACROBATICS

The Level 1 class begins with body conditioning to develop strength and increase flexibility. Following this students will work through the progressions of the basic skills before tackling harder skills. Students will practice combining tricks and will begin to master skills and will begin to master skills on both sides. At this level, students will be introduced to many more intricate skills. Key skills at this level. Key skills at this level include 'head balances', 'cartwheels completed on both sides', 'twist hands', 'back bends with bend stretch', and 'leg shouldering, sitting and standing'. Finally, at this level, students will be introduced to 'fore-walkovers.'  

Syllabus: Warm Up, 3 Barre Exercises, 3 Center Practice Exercise, 6 Set tricks, Dance link Movemens, Wrist, and Shoulder Stretches, Handstand and Balances, Bridges, Limbering, Tumbling, Partnering, Flexibility, Cool Down, Révérence, and Theory. 

Performance: London has organized multiple performance and demonstration opportunities for students, to build confidence and to gain experience of dance outside of the studio.  Please ensure that you support your child in these opportunities as they are an important part of their dance training.

Student COMMENCEMENT Showcase Gala - Friday, June 21, 2024

Student COMMENCEMENT - Saturday, June 22 - 14:15.  This is an important day for all students as it formally acknowledges a year of dedication and learning completion.  Please ensure your child participates in the milestone day!

Uniform: The visual appearance of a dancer is as much a part of the art of Dance as the movement itself. Classroom attire is particularly important. It must allow the dancer complete freedom to experience movement while maintaining safety. It must also allow the instructor and observer the opportunity to view the alignment of the body and the movement itself. At the London School of Dance, we maintain a strict policy regarding the wearing of regulation uniforms and correct grooming. Please see below for the required uniform for this level.
