Grade 4 TAP

The Grade 4 Tap level is filled with energy and built upon the skills attained in previous levels. At this level, instructors will be encouraging students to refine their technique, performance quality, and flexibility through a variety of exercises and routines. The Syllabus further broadens the student’s knowledge of complex Tap Steps. After completing this level, the student will be able to execute a variety of ‘Ripples’ completed in 3 beats, 4 beats, and 5 beats as well as ‘Riffs’. At this level, students will be introduced to a new ‘Timestep’ variation to include ‘Pick Ups’. Finally, this year students will learn and perform 3 different routines for their BATD Examination.

Upon successful completion of this BATD examination, students are eligible to progress to the Grade 5 Tap level.

Syllabus:  Warm-Up, Barre, Floor and Center Practice, Skills Progressions, Music Appreciation, Dance Study, Showcase Routine, Cool Down and Révérence.

Performance: London has organized multiple performance and demonstration opportunities for students, to build confidence and to gain experience of dance outside of the studio.  Please ensure that you support your child in these opportunities as they are an important part of their dance training.

Student COMMENCEMENT Showcase Gala - Friday, June 21, 2024

Student COMMENCEMENT - Saturday, June 22 - 14:15.  This is an important day for all students as it formally acknowledges a year of dedication and learning completion.  Please ensure your child participates in the milestone day!

Uniform:The visual appearance of a dancer is as  much a part of the art of Dance as the movement itself. Classroom attire is particularly important. It must allow the dancer complete freedom to experience movement while maintaining safety. It must also allow the instructor and observer the opportunity to view the alignment of the body and the movement itself. At the London School of Dance, we maintain a strict policy regarding the wearing of regulation uniforms and correct grooming. Please see below for the required uniform for this level.
