Junior ACROBATICS Welcome to the explore dance program. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to be introduced to dance at London. The sessions are 7 lessons in duration. They are available throughout the year starting in September through until August. This year, students will learn the Acrobatics basics including ‘push up into bridge’, ‘knee split and toe to head’, ‘forward rolls’, and ‘rock and rolls’. Finally, at this level, students will be introduced to ‘cartwheels’. They will focus on key skills including ‘splits’. In this class, students begin with basic stretches and then move on to the wedge. The wedge provides an inclined surface that makes learning such moves as pencil rolls, forward rolls, and baby crab walks easier. Uniform: The visual appearance of a dancer is as much a part of the art of Dance as the movement itself. Classroom attire is particularly important. It must allow the dancer complete freedom to experience movement while maintaining safety. It must also allow the instructor and observer the opportunity to view the alignment of the body and the movement itself. At the London School of Dance, we maintain a strict policy regarding the wearing of regulation uniforms and correct grooming. Please see below for the required uniform for this level. Prerequisites: Recommended for students between the ages of 54-60 months old. The student must be toilet trained to participate in this class. Please consult with Admissions for your personal Class Advisement.
