Come be inspired with masterclasses taught by Margot Aknin! There are classes open to adults, and also for intermediate and advanced dancers, so don't miss this wonderful opportunity! The sessions will be led by our alumni Margot Aknin, who danced the role of Sugar Plum Fairy in last year's production of Nutcracker. Ms. Aknin, currently a company dancer with Island Moving Company in Newport, RI, trained at Los Gatos Ballet with Marcie Ryken for ten years. After high school, she spent three years in the Graduate Program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School. Margot was a member of BalletMet 2 for the 2015–2016 season, performing corps and soloist roles in ballets by Edwaard Liang, David Nixon, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Gerard Charles, and George Balanchine. She joined Dayton Ballet in 2016, where she has performed roles including Daisy in Ron Cunningham’s The Great Gatsby, Odette in Septime Webre’s Swan Lake, Lucy in Karen Russo Burke’s Dracula: Bloodlines, and Butterfly in Madame Butterfly. Margot joined Island Moving Company in 2021.
