Woodshop

Description:
This special workshop is designed for members of Google's PiShop seeking safety training on basic woodshop power tools. We'll cover the general safety and operating principles of many of the tools available to you at PiShop, including the Jointer, Planer, Table Saw, Sliding Compound Miter Saw, Handheld Routers, and Manual Router Table. We'll show you everything you need to turn a rough piece of wood into a squared board, and shape it using both handheld and table routers. What to Bring Equipment Certifications Members over the age of 16 will be cleared to use these tools independently. Members younger than 16 may only operate this equipment under the active supervision of a parent or guardian with an active membership who is also certified to use the same tools.
While our equipment is not identical to PiShop's, this class will cover differences you may encounter in various models of these tools. This course is meant only for PiShop members and not intended for the general public or Maker Nexus members. However, Googlers who are also members will be certified to use the machines covered in this class.
After passing this class, attendees who are Maker Nexus Hobbyist, Student, or Family Add-On members will be certified to independently use the following tools in our makerspace:
