Description:

Learn to make your own signs, stickers and fabric transfers! In this hands-on tool training class, you'll create a custom designed tote bag while learning the ins and outs of our 30" USCutter vinyl cutters.  With this tool, you can make single-color stickers and signs, cut out masks for paint or etching, and make heat transfer appliques for textiles.

You will learn:

  • The materials available for use with vinyl cutters, and how to tell them apart.
  • Cutting, scoring, and marking tools used in the machine.
  • How to use VinylMaster Cut to lay out your design and send it to the cutter
  • How to assess the vinyl cutter's performance and resolve common issues.
  • How to use a heat press to transfer heat-press vinyl to fabric.

What to Bring

  • Full length pants and closed-toed shoes
  • Maker Nexus will provide a canvas tote bag for you to customize with a heat-press vinyl applique.  You can also bring a natural fiber garment to transfer onto.
  • If you would like to use your own design, please save it in SVG, DXF, DWG or EPS format and bring it to class on a thumb drive.
