Location: MNjcc Zoom Meeting

Description:

Presented in partnership with LABA & Reboot

Shavuot is an ever-expanding vista on Jewish time and tradition - from that ancient mythic moment when the Israelites spent the evening in the wilderness in anticipation of Divine Revelation to the reception of the commandments that would alter their futures and the futures of all their descendants, forever. What happened at Sinai? What was revealed exactly? What woke them up in that ancient past? And what do we need to wake up today? Join multidisciplinary artist, Daniel Sarah Karasik, & LABA Rabbinic Fellow, Kendell Pinkney, as they play with text, tradition, and what this Shavuot might mean for us all.

LABA: A Global Laboratory for Jewish Culture is a non-religious house of study and premiere arts & culture incubator that uses classic Jewish texts to inspire the free-flowing creation of art, dialogue, and exploration. Founded in New York City’s 14th St. Y in 2008, LABA has expanded to Buenos Aires, East Bay and Berlin with plans to expand to Tel Aviv and Toronto in the coming year.
