Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art created by enslaved Africans during Portuguese colonization during the 16th century to escape their oppressors.  In class, students learn flashy kicks, dodges, and movements. Beyond that, we teach how to sing and play capoeira music on traditional instruments and the rich history of capoeira.

Due to instructor conflicts, Capoeira will start on Tuesday, January 9th. If you need extended day care on December 5, December 12, or December 19, please reach out to Programs at programs@nnms.org
