Description:

This class builds on the beginner throwing course which has already covered the basics of centering and throwing bowls, cylinders and plates.  Participants should already be a able to centre 2 lbs of clay reliably, and to pull the walls on a cylinder to an even thickness. This course will give you the opportunity to refine your skills and to attempt more complex forms. Techniques will be introduced for altering wheel thrown forms, throwing larger and making compound forms. Decorating with slip using stencils, transfers or slip trailing will also be covered.

Clay is not included in the course price.  Clay can be purchased at the community center on your first day of class. Please bring an apron.
