Description:

This weekly class is taught by one of our senior coach and is for students working on advanced silks techniques. It is by invitation only. Please contact us to discuss the prerequisites if you wish to sign up.

This class will begin in January and run to June. Students can join even after the session has started at a prorated amount.

Ratio coach to student 1:7 for a personalized approach 

Each 1-hour class is composed of a warm-up, instruction on techniques, conditioning and strengthening exercises and stretching.

Required age: 12 - 16 on the day of the activity

Notes: Bring a water bottle. Dress code: -No zipper or any metal or hard plastic on clothing that could snag the fabric or tear the tape on the apparatus. Participants will not be permitted on the circus school apparatus if wearing zippers. -All jewelry or watches that could snag should be removed. -Long leggings or track pants and a t-shirt that won't ride up when upside-down is ideal to protect the skin from rubbing. For certain moves, longer sleeves or socks might be useful. We will work mainly barefoot.

Prerequisites: Participants must have mastered these Level 1 skills with good form: -Shoulder shrugs with correct form from the ground -Be able to climb to the top of the silk -1 full pull up, 5-second lock off and descend with control -15 second dead hang -Inverted tuck from the ground -Candlestick (wrist lock straight inversion) -Can tie your own knot -Can wrap a footlock -Can perform basic knot tricks (star, ninja, diaper drop, dove drop)

Skill requirement: Silks - Completed all Level 2 silks skills
