Description:

Philadelphia-based choreographer and dance artist Aubrey Donisch invites kids who are storytellers--kids who love to dance, write, and draw their own worlds. This project will culminate in a showing of these stories through movement and art.

This class will get students moving as they explore dance and improvisation through teamwork and creative expression. In the studio, our bodies, the space, and our relationships become the canvas! Dancers will learn how to choreograph, partner, and tell their own movement stories.

No prior dance experience needed! Wear comfortable clothes to move in and sneakers. No sandals or slick-bottomed shoes.

Required age: 5 - 9 on the day of the activity

Notes: Our After-School program is listed from 4-5:30pm, allowing all students to arrive on foot, by bus or drop off to make it in advance of instruction time between 4:30-5:30pm. Drop off students may arrive anytime after 4pm. WSSD can Bus to Us! SRS students may join our escorted walking bus and students from NPE & WES can bus over. Our adult and teen staff supervises students after school for snack, homework, games outside play time and to relax before classes begin promptly at 4:30pm.
