After mastering Fundamentals, youth advance to the Development class, acquiring skills such as backstroke (10 yards), freestyle (15 yards), elementary backstroke, breaststroke introduction, rotary breathing introduction, underwater glides, directional changes while swimming, retrieval of objects from deeper water, treading water for 15 seconds, and independent floating for 15 seconds.
