Ring in 2019 by getting outside with us. Thursdays in the Parks is especially designed for those of you who would like to explore our NW parks and trails with a group of great people. All routes are easy to moderate, but never gain more that 300 feet of elevation. 

RWB offers this widely popular, guided walking series. Join us every Thursday morning as we head to some fantastic destinations! Especially designed for those of you who would like to explore our NW parks and trails in a leisurely and enjoyable way, we will venture out every week to a new location. We’ll meet at the Burlington Senior Center and travel together to learn about new trails and meet future walking friends. Each trail is easy and never gains more than 300 feet in elevation. Destinations are subject to change based on the judgment of guides.

Meeting Location: Burlington Senior Center

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm each Thursday.

We will explore:

  1. Washington Park
  2. Rasar State Park
  3. Squalicum Creek Trail
  4. Kukutali Preserve
  5. Lake Padden

Price: $75.00 Taxes included

Required age: 18 - 125 on the day of the activity

Notes: 5 Session Pass for Thursdays 1/3/19, 1/10/19, 1/17/19, 1/24/19, & 1/31/19. We meet at 9:00am each Thursday and generally return to the Burlington Senior Center by 12:00pm. Purchase is Non-Refundable. Must purchase entire series, individual days are not for sale. We hike/walk regardless of the weather. All trails/walks will more than likely have some mud. Here are a few things to keep in mind: Foot attire: Comfortable/Waterproof with some ankle support. Hiking or rubber boots are suggested. Warm socks recommended. Water bottle: Bring at least one medium sized bottle, preferably in a waist-pack or backpack. Hat: Bring a hat or wear a hooded jacket for rain, wind and/or sun protection. Clothing: Wear weather appropriate clothing and dress in layers. Cotton is not advised. Polypropylene or blends are best. Also, bring some extra clothing for changing or for the ride. Rainwear/outerwear: A warm, waterproof, windproof, breathable jacket is highly recommended. Snacks: you are welcome to take small breaks throughout the walk so bring some small, healthy, packable snacks. Optional: walking stick, camera, binoculars, sunglasses, gloves, sunblock, and money.

Prerequisites: Ability to walk at least 2 miles.
