Description:
Gender Affirming Circus is a general circus class that allows trans and gender-non-conforming students to explore the world of circus in a safe and supportive environment! Students will focus on building their sense of balance, coordination, physical awareness, and spatial orientation in conjunction with developing mental acuity and problem-solving skills. SANCA’s general circus classes start with a warm-up and then move on to working on circus skills in a few disciplines per week, including trampoline, tumbling, static trapeze, aerial rope, tightwire, aerial fabric, rolling globe, juggling, and more. Students will develop physical skills, increase confidence, and build self-esteem while having fun.
Required age: 18+ on the day of the activity
Prerequisites: If you would like to enroll in this class, please contact the front office. To ensure a safe space for our trans and gender-non conforming students, there is a short screening process for all interested students. (office@sancaseattle.org or 206-652-4433)
