Description:

Dr. Alana Gowdy

The Bayeux Tapestry was made soon after the Norman invasion of 1066 and amazingly still exists. It is a very long embroidery with soldiers, horses, unusual animals, and a few naked people! The story of important events before the invasion is followed by the Battle of Hastings.

Resembling a comic strip in wool on linen, the Bayeux Tapestry is a world treasure.
