Description:
Gord Hotchkiss & Don Rampone Terrazzo is a craft that has a long history in Northern Italy. In this course, we'll trace terrazzo's roots from its Venetian origins, follow its journey to North America, explore how it impacted the immigration of terrazzo craftsmen from the Friuli region and feature the stories of three terrazzo companies and the families who started them: The Fabris family from Winnipeg, the Pizzinat family in Los Angeles and the Ghini family from here in BC. We'll also hunt for the last remaining terrazzo floors here in Kelowna.
