Description:
James Howard This course is a follow-up to the "Jane Austen at the Movies" courses and will be conducted similarly as a mix of video viewing and discussion of the novels. Half the course will be dedicated to Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre" and the other half to Emily Bronte's "Wuthering Heights". Our discussions will focus on how faithful the video adaptations are to the original texts and on their attempts to make the novels relevant to a contemporary audience. Reading the novels is not required but encouraged.
