Description:

Dr. Isaac Li, Associate Professor of Chemistry UBCO

The physical interactions between our cells are crucial for the functioning of our body and immune system and play a key role in cancer development. Dr. Li will discuss what we currently understand about these cell-to-cell interactions and how, in his UBCO lab, he and his research students are using innovative tools and techniques that allow them to closely examine the movement of individual molecules. By deepening our understanding of these physical interactions, we can learn how their disruption can lead to diseases as well as potential ways to restore healthy functioning.
