Description:
Wayne Broughton Wayne Broughton will present a brief history of classical ciphers, including the German Enigma machine used in WW2, how the code was cracked, and the development of ever more sophisticated encryption in modern digital communications. Try your hand at breaking cryptogram puzzles, learn how to use a simulation of the Enigma machine, and find out how we share a secret key over the public internet. Wayne is a UBCO math professor and Central Okanagan public school trustee.
