The Science Museum of Long Island (SMLI) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been providing hands-on science activities to schools, families, public, and private institutions for over 50 years. As such, charitable contributions such as membership dues and donations are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows. Here at SMLI, we are committed to fostering and nurturing children’s interest in science by providing quality educational programming that is fun, engaging, and informative. Generations of children have unlocked the mysteries of meteorology, astronomy, chemistry, and the cycle of living through participatory workshops at the Museum.

CODE OF CONDUCT:
A kind reminder that all children attending SMLI's programs are expected to adhere to appropriate behavioral standards and to respect fellow participants, as well as SMLI staff. Accordingly, as SMLI strives to provide a safe and enjoyable experience to all participants, and as each child's behavior contributes to the overall experience, SMLI reserves its right to address any inappropriate or disrespectful behavior in any manner that SMLI deems appropriate, including immediately terminating your child’s continued participation in any activity without a refund, and/or early pickup.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY:
SMIL provides refunds when a program cancels, such as in the case of inclement weather. When a participant chooses not to attend an SMLI program after making payment, there is an option to use that money to buy or increase the membership level, or the funds can be used as credit to another program. All credits, refunds and changes to registration are subject to a minimum 2.5% service fee and up to a $25 admin fee.

Tickets to special events is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by SMLI for weather related circumstances. Service Fee is never refundable under any circumstances.
