Rescue Simulation is a robot rescue simulation competition environment.  The engine runs with a sophisticated simulation platform called Webots(TM).   Webots, created by  Cyberbotics , has been incorporated with sophisticated physics engine to simulate issues in the physical world.  It is designed for a professional use, and it is widely used in industry, education and research.

More about this simulation platform:

  1. Teams can focus on A.I. algorithms development with the latest technology such as computer vision without being bogged down by the monetary cost,  mechanical and electronic specific issues from the physical components.

  2. Teams can also design and build the prototype of robotic devices within the virtual environment.   Thus, students will still be able to design, much like C.A.D. for their hardware components.    This advantage comes from Webots being an open-source and multi-platform desktop application used to simulate robots. It provides a complete development environment to model, program, and simulate robots.

  3. Opportunities to create an advanced level of robots are virtually limitless.  Robot prototypes can be as simple as two-wheeled table robots, industrial arms, bipeds, multi-legs robots, or even aerospace robot navigation in zero-gravity environments.

Hardware Requirements:

  • 2+ GHz dual core CPU

  • 2+ GB RAM

  • 512+ MB of RAM graphics adapter - NVIDIA or AMD OpenGL(v3.3+).

  • 3G  Free disk storage
(more total free disc  storage  space is better, of course. )
