RobocupJunior is a pre-college level robotics competition from the renowned World RoboCup™ AI-oriented Tournament. RCJ stands out as unique among most other popular robotic competitions available in the U.S.A. RCJ heavily focuses on software algorithm development and innovation of their hardware platforms. Teams have the freedom to choose their own hardware in both mechanical and electronic devices. T OnStage is particularly unique and allows the most creativity. A single team may even utilize multiple platforms as they choose. Click here to view the specifics on OnStage Projects, such as the rules, performance rubric, etc. Go here to view SR’s participation history with RobocupJunior Hardware requirements will be further discussed in class as the hardware platform for each group can easily vary based on the goals and abilities of the participants. Students are responsible for hardware fees. Here is a sample portion list for last year. Please note: this is ONLY a sample of what past teams have chosen to purchase. Notes: Important note: The scoring method works similar to a competitive science fair, based on a set of performance rubrics with various categories, from design, technology, innovation, creativity, engineering process, etc. to presentation.
Prerequisites: - Must complete Algorithms in C/C++ - I; but Level III is more desirable. - Experience with Robotics and Electronic - Arduino is more desirable.
