Rescue Simulation is a robot rescue simulation competition environment.  The engine runs with a sophisticated simulation platform called Webots(TM).   Webots, created by  Cyberbotics , has been incorporated with sophisticated physics engine to simulate issues in the physical world.  It is designed for a professional use, and it is widely used in industry, education and research.

More about this simulation platform:

  1. Teams can focus on exploration using simulation environment to enhance their robotics programming and problem solving skills  without being bogged down by the monetary cost,  mechanical and electronic specific issues from the physical components.

  2. For more advanced students, members  can also design and build the prototype of robotic devices within the virtual environment.   Thus, students will still be able to design, much like C.A.D. for their hardware components.    This advantage comes from Webots being an open-source and multi-platform desktop application used to simulate robots. It provides a complete development environment to model, program, and simulate robots.

Robotics Simulation - Entry Level is a new regional sub-league under the OPEN  RobocupJunior Robotics Simulation League.  Rules will be similar to those of the Rescue Line in 2024. The robotics simulation environment has mainly targeted the industry, college, and advanced high school levels.   The Entry Level goal is to extend the learning opportunity to middle school or robotics programming beginners.
More details on the Rules article will be available soon.
