Description:

DANIEL ISLAND WATER AEROBICS CLASSES ARE LIMITED TO DICA/DIPA/DITA MEMBERS.  Water aerobics classes require free Daniel Island Swim Camp, Lesson and Water Fitness PRE-REGISTRATION (found under the memberships tab in the store).  Pre-registrations are usually validated and approved by the POA within 2 business days.  DICA, DIPA and DITA members are then approved for Daniel Island Swim Camp, Lesson & Water Fitness Membership, which allows registration for available camps, lessons and water fitness programming. REGISTRATION, COSTS AND RESERVATIONS:  Registration and payment for all classes should be made online.  Individual classes are $6 each.  Discounted multipasses (good for 8 classes) are  $40 ($5/class).  Multipasses are valid for 2 months from date of first use. In order to facilitate social distancing, classes will be limited to 30 participants. Once approved by the POA, the easiest way to book your class is to purchase a multipass. Then return to the store, choose DI Water Aerobics, Use the calendar to select your desired available class(es), and then checkout using your multpass for payment.  During checkout, you will complete several required POA and lesson waivers.  You will receive a confirmation email after completing your purchase.For questions about DI Water Aerobics, please contact us at SwimLessons@SwimCharleston.org. 

What to expect at our classes:  Each water aerobics class typically includes a warm-up, cardio and strength-training exercises, and cooldown/stretching, all to the sounds of your favorite hits from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's.  Singing along to "Sweet Caroline" is encouraged, but not required :)  Expect exercises like water walking, bicep/tricep curls, leg lifts, and squats. You won't be swimming (much). The Scott Park pool ranges from 3.5-4.5 feet deep.  A limited assortment of floating barbells are available for your use (feel free to bring your own equipment).  Due to the aerobic nature of this activity, you should not participate unless you have been medically-cleared to do so by your physician.  

Cancellation: You may cancel any class with 24 hours notice.  Your multipass or fees will be automatically credited to your account.

 

Required age: 18+ on the day of the activity

Requirements: DI Camps, Lessons and Water Fitness PREREGISTRATION and, once approved by the POA, DI Camps, Lessons, and Water Fitness Membership.
